Spring is one of the four conventional temperate seasons, following winter and preceding summer. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we will mark the spring equinox on Monday, March 20, 2017, at exactly 6:29 A.M. EDT. Spring and "springtime" refer to the season, and also to ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection, and regrowth. A time to enjoy the increasing sunlight hours, with earlier dawns and later sunsets.
Ready, set, plant!
March is time to start gardens and sow seeds in many regions. My seeds have been started indoors and are just starting to emerge from their tiny starter pods. Marcus was kind enough to till my garden last week. We are ready to plant!
There's an old adage that says, “the best fertilizer is the gardener's shadow.” I believe this and have always found it satisfying to work in the garden. Always coming away feeling accomplished.
Spring break is a U.S. phenomenon and an academic tradition which started during the 1930's in the United States. In addition to being a vacation period for university and primary school students, many large annual festivals take place during this time. With several of the most popular festivals happening in Florida and Texas it's no wonder that many of the most popular destinations each year are in these states. Places like Las Vegas, New Orleans, LA, and Mexico also attract their share of visitors thanks to their inviting climate and party atmospheres. So whether you plan on heading to one of these destinations, staying home and planting a garden or doing some spring cleaning, or visiting somewhere locally for a staycation I've got a giveaway that will help you take a break.
